The 7th Topical Workshop on Modern Aspects in Nuclear Structure was held in Bormio from February 3 to 8, 2025. The workshop was organized by the Nuclear Structure group of the Department of Physis and INFN. The meeting was sponsored by NuPECC, SOGIN, and companies such as CAEN, CTT, EOS, MIRION, ORTEK/AMETEK, SCIONIX, and TNE.
The 2025 edition marked the seventh event in this biennial workshop series, dedicated to nuclear structure, nuclear reactions, and nuclear astrophysics. The first day featured a symposium in honor of Angela Bracco, focusing on nuclear collective phenomena. The following days included presentations on nuclear structure studies and the latest experimental results obtained with stable and radioactive accelerated beams and neutron beams, using state-of-the-art detectors at major laboratories worldwide, including ELI (Romania), FRIBS (USA), GANIL (France), GSI (Germany), ISOLDE (CERN), LNL (Legnaro), RIKEN (Japan), and others. Many technological applications were also discussed. Significant attention was given to theoretical studies, highlighting the diversity of fundamental nuclear physics and its implications in other fields of physics.
The workshop gathered approximately 150 participants from 20 different countries across Europe, America, Asia, and Africa. An international committee selected 39 invited contributions and a total of 102 presentations. The four best presentations by PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (about 30% of the total) were chosen by an international committee consisting of M. Harakeh (University of Groningen, Netherlands), B. Kay (Argonne National Laboratory, USA), B. Jurado (CNRS Bordeaux, France), Y. Niu (Lanzhou University, China), and F. Vivaldi (CAEN, Italy).
The winners were Bram van den Borne (KU Leuven, Belgium), Katarzyna Gajewska (INP, Krakow, Poland), Périne Miriot-Jaubert (CEA Saclay, France), and Lv Wanli (Lanzhou University, China), who received awards sponsored by CAEN.
