Chiara Savoini and Silvia Zanoli, graduated in Physics at the University of Milan, received the National Award "Milla Baldo Ceolin" 2020 - Women in Theoretical Physics, announced by INFN for the 10 best Master's theses in the field of Theoretical Physics, concerning topics of interest to the National Scientific Commission IV.
The Prize, reserved for female doctors, intends to favor and encourage the presence of young researchers in this sector.
Dr. Chiara Savoini (on the left in the photo), currently a PhD student at the University of Zurich, carried out the thesis entitled "Heavy-quark mass effects on QCD transverse momentum resummation for vector boson production in hadron collisions" at the University of Milan under the supervision of Prof. Giancarlo Ferrera.
Dr. Silvia Zanoli (on the right in the photo), currently a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute in Munich, carried out the thesis entitled "Higher-order matching for heavy quarks in perturbative QCD" at the University of Milan under the supervised by Prof. Stefano Forte.
The award ceremony took place in Florence at the INFN National Center for Advanced Studies - Galileo Galilei Institute.
